2012 Merricks Thompson's Lane Pinot Noir

Semi translucent bright dark crimson red black tinged colour with a light crimson hue. The nose is quite perfumed with scents of ripe dark cherries intermixed with plum and a faint whiff of anise with spicy toasty cedar following. Light to medium weight and generously flavoured with a supple round texture the palate has ripe dark cherry and plum characters which dominate over a background of anise and toasty cedar. Velvet smooth tannins. Good power and depth with a long ripe dark cherry, plum, subtle anise and toasty cedar aftertaste. A delicious early drinking style.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
