2012 Kooyonga Creek Shiraz

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark brick red hue. The nose shows little varietal character with aromas of stewed fruits, a hint of liquorice, green beans and spicy herbs. The palate oddly has much more ripeness to it with flavours of stewed plums and liquorice over shadowed by heavy handed charry oak. Some spicy dried herb characters follow on. Fine grained, slightly dryish tannins. Concludes with an aftertaste of spicy stewed plums, a strong dose of charry oak and earthy dried herb infusions.
