2012 King River Estate Merlot

Deep dark red colour, slightly cloudy, with a dark red verging on brick red hue. The nose shows good intensity but lacks any real varietal character with aromas of stewed plums, raisins and spice. Light to medium weight with a soft rounded mouthfeel the palate is reflective of the nose with flavours of stewed fruits, raisins and spicy new leather. Slightly dryish finish with very soft fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of stewed fruits, leather and spice. Pass.
