2012 Kelvedon Estate Pinot Noir
Kelvedon was established in 1829 by the Cotton family as a wool sheep and cattle property with some cropping. In 1998 the family diversified into viticulture and they seem to have harnessed the fickle nature of Pinot early.
Displaying a dark red black tinged core and a dark red hue this Pinot displays very good depth of colour. Perfumed aromas of delicate violets, dark cherries and dark plum are intermixed with anise over a background of toasty cedar and spice. Light to medium weight the palate possesses more than ample richness and a fantastic power wave with flavours of ripe dark cherries, dark plum and some anise followed by some meaty cedar like characters with a spicy finish. Very fine grained well integrated tannins. Excellent persistence and depth with a long spicy ripe dark cherry, dark plum, anise and spicy cedar aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 13.9%
