2012 John Duval Wines Plexus Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre

A blend of 51% Shiraz, 30% Grenache and 19% Mourvedre with maturation taking place in French oak (10% new and the balance 3-6 year old oak) for a period of 15 months. Impressive depth displaying an opaque black dark crimson red colour with a dark crimson red purple hue. The nose offers up aromas of black raspberry and dark plum over some liquorice, subtle earth and spice showing good lift. Medium weight with an understated sense of elegance and soft supple texture the palate possesses succulent flavours of black raspberry and liquorice followed by some dark plum with a spicy peppery back palate. Velvet smooth tannins. Long black raspberry, dark plum, liquorice and spicy peppered aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years (2018-2019).
