2012 Grace Kayagatake Rouge

Grace was founded in 1923 and this red is a blend of Muscat Bailey A, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Near opaque bright dark red black tinged colour with a bright crimson red hue. A delightful sniff the nose displays perfumed aromas of violets, blackcurrants and ripe dark cherries are followed by some light clove and scorched earth characters finishing with spice end notes. Light to medium weight, dry and savoury the palate has elegant flavours of red cherry and subtle blackcurrant over a background of cedary earth like characters and spice. Perfectly integrated very fine grained tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of red cherries, blackcurrant, cedar, earth and spice. A very pretty, elegant blend.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
