2012 Bowen Estate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Bowen Estate is owned and run by Doug Bowen and his family. The Estate consists of 33 hectares of vines planted on the prized Coonawarra Terra Rosa soils. Established in 1972, the first vintage in 1975 was greeted with considerable enthusiasm.

Totally opaque inky black purple colour with deep dark purple black hue. The nose reveals scents of blackcurrants and dark mulberries overlaid by a hint of bay leaf with some cedar and spice end notes. Full bodied the palate delivers mouthfilling ripe blackcurrant flavours infused with a touch of bay leaf followed by some liquorice, cedar and spice on the back palate. Sturdy tannins but fine grained. Long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, a hint of bay leaf, cedar and spice.
Cellar 6-8 years (2020-2022).
