2011 Valle Secreto Profundo

Profundo is the icon wine of Valle Secreto and is sourced from the best parcels of fruit in vineyards located at the foot of the Andes Mountains, in Alto Cachapoal. A superb Chilean blend comprised of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Syrah, 10% Malbec, 10% Petit Verdot and 10% Carmenere which has been matured in new French oak for 24 months. Totally opaque midnight black core with a deep dark crimson black hue. Intense aromatics of blackcurrant, tobacco and a hint of liquorice emerge from the glass with black olive, cedary cigar box characters and spice following on. The palate possesses outstanding richness and concentration with mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackcurrant, black cherry and liquorice powering their way through complemented by underlying nuances of cedary tobacco characters, black olives and spice. The solidly built yet fine grained tannins providing the perfect framework. Superb length with a very long conclusion of blackcurrant, liquorice, cedary tobacco characters and spice.
