2011 Two Paddocks Pinot Noir

Two Paddocks is the project of Hollywood movie star Sam Neil. The wine is sourced from Two Paddocks three vineyards – Gibbston, Alexandra, and Redbank at Earnscleugh, with maturation taking place in small French oak barrels (25% new) for a period of 11 months.

Semi translucent dark red colour with light brick red hue. The nose shows excellent perfumed lift with scents of ripe dark cherries, a hint of anise and toasty oak followed by some gamey dried meat characters and spice. Light to medium weight with abundant richness, power and concentration the palate delivers round mouthfilling flavours of ripe dark cherries and dark plums with a very spicy, toasty oak overlay and some dried meat characters on the back palate. Velvet smooth tannins with very long and persistent ripe dark cherry, dark plum, toasty oak, dried meats and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years (2014-2020).
