2011 The GlenAllachie Single Cask #1417 Oloroso Hogshead 14 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Fourteen years old, matured in an Oloroso hogshead, and it's dark. Very dark. That's something we expect from Billy Walker. It looks like a sherry bomb with a fine provenance. The bonus is the direct import price. Historically these beauties have retailed in Australia for well over $300. For this edition, 338 bottles were decanted from a single cask at 58.5% Alc./Vol. Non-chill filtered.

Notes from the producers... Aromas of raisin buttercream, mocha and toffee are followed by heather honey, baked orange and cinnamon, with ginger and muscovado sugar. On the palate you’ll find heather honey, baked spiced orange and winter truffle, followed by fig jam, dried red berries and caramelised muscovado sugar.
