2011 Stanton & Killeen Durif

Deep dark red colour with crimson red hue lacking the depth traditionally associated with this varietal. The nose reveals aromas of liquorice, ripe dark cherries, vanillin oak and spice. Light to medium weight, thin and lean are all descriptors very rarely used for Rutherglen Durif. If you wanted to be nice you could say it was elegant. Lacking concentration and depth it has flavours of dark cherries, sour plums and vanillin oak. Soft fine grained tannins with moderate aftertaste of cherry, sour plum and vanillin oak.

Drink over the next 2-3 years.
