2011 Single Malts of Scotland Caol Ila 12 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Independent Caol Ila's are rumoured to be drying up. Hiding at the bottom of the cliffs by Port Askaig on Islay’s eastern shore, the distillery has a reputation for producing smoky, maritime whiskies of elegance and poise. This one yielded a total of 600 bottles from a 'butt'. Judging by the tasting notes, we assume there's some sherry involved. Think flavours of burnt toffee, cough sweets and lemon oil with cloves, cinnamon and peat smoke. 61.2% Alc./Vol. Non-chill filtered.
