Signatory's latest shipment includes two Orkney whiskies that were distilled and bottled back-to-back. This one was finished in Amontillado hogsheads, the other in Palo Cortado hogsheads. Some have said the style here is a bit brash and in your face, but that's expected from Highland Park bottled at near cask strength. Other reviews... Perhaps the whisky is a touch too hot. Otherwise, it certainly has lovely Highland Park aromas. As is often the case with 100 proof bottlings, the whisky isn't particularly complex. However, the Highland Park character manages to assert itself against the cask, and a nice creamy caramel note also emerges. - whiskybase.com
