2011 San Felice Chianti Classico

A blend of predominately Sangiovese with a 20% component of Colorino and Pugnitello included for added colour and depth. Very deep dark red black colour with a dark red hue. The nose has aromas of very dark almost black cherries, a faint whiff of liquorice, earthy dried meats and subtle spicy leather emanating from the glass. Light to medium weight the palate is quite savoury with flavours of dark ripe cherries to the fore followed by dried meats, earth, leather and spice. Dryish finish with fine grained tannins and a meaty, fleshy mouthfeel. Aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, meaty cedar, earthy leather and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
