2011 Portsea Estate Pinot Noir

Aged in French oak of which 30% was new. Semi translucent dark red colour with light brick red hue. The nose shows good perfumed lift with scents of ripe dark cherries and dark plum over shadowing a backdrop of toasty oak, some earthy meatiness and spice. Soft and velvety the palate features good richness with a flavour profile of ripe dark cherries and plum with some underlying spicy oak and a hint of earthiness. Velvet smooth tannins. Long aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, plum and spicy oak.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2014-2018).
