Sourced from vines 15-40 years of age with maturation taking place in 3 year old barrels for 15 months. Opaque black dark purple red colour with dark purple red hue. Showing good intensity the nose offers up scents of ripe dark plum and liquorice followed by some vanillin confectionary and spice. Medium weight the palate shows the elegance of the vintage with flavours of dark plum and black raspberries followed by some subtle toasted oak and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Medium to long spicy dark plum, dark raspberry, earth and toasty oak aftertaste.
