A private selection for Kirsch Imports in Germany. Not many bottles of this European exclusive have made it to Australia, so if you are looking for an affordable cask strength Glenallachie that few others will have, this is it. 'Cuvee' is a French wine term that derives from 'cuve', meaning vat or tank, and refers to a particular blend of different wines to be bottled as a single expression under one label. First matured in American oak, for an additional, aroma-intensive aging process, Master Distiller, Billy Walker selected three other cask types with different characters: Pedro Ximénez Sherry Puncheons, Madeira barriques and Port Pipes. The Madeira provides spicy touches, the sherry puncheons contribute sweetness and depth while the port pipes add complexity and added colour. The result: An intense and exceptional single malt cuvée with complex aromas ranging from mocha, raisins and muscovado sugar to ripe garden fruits. 54.9% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the producers... Nose: plenty of mocha, liquorice and sultanas, followed by muscovado sugar, honey-glazed cherries and ripe garden fruit. Palate: Waves of heather honey, cinnamon spice and caramelized sugar transition to syrup, ginger and orange Peel.
