2011 Explorer Pinot Noir

Semi translucent bright dark red colour with a faint tinge of black around the outskirts and a transparent dark red hue. Fragrant notes of ripe dark cherries, dark strawberries and anise jump from the glass followed by some subtlety toasted oak and spice. Light to medium weight the palate possesses generous flavours of ripe dark cherries and strawberries followed by some anise infusions and spicy toasted oak but does not have the drive of a top Pinot Noir. Supple mouthfeel, slightly dryish on the finish with fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, spicy anise and toasty oak.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
