2011 Elderton Barossa Merlot

Matured for 14 months in predominately French oak puncheons. Deep dark red black colour with dark red hue. The nose is a little subdued with aromas of dark plum, a hint of liquorice, light toasty cedar and spice emerging. Medium weight the palate has flavours of ripe dark plum, some earthy cedar and spice. It lacks some depth and complexity. Soft fine grained tannins. Moderate plum, earthy cedar and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
