2011 Domaine Fond Croze Cuvee Confidence Cotes du Rhone

The value priced wines of Domaine Fond Croze are yet another project of super star Rhone consultant Philippe Cambie. A blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. Opaque black dark red colour with dark crimson red hue. Ripe dark raspberry and black cherry top notes are followed by some liquorice, a touch of incense and spice. Medium weight to full bodied and quite joosy the palate possesses more weight and richness than previous vintages with flavours of black cherry, black raspberry and liquorice dominate followed by some meaty earth like qualities and a peppery finish. Slightly dryish but fine grained tannins provide some good structural qualities. Long black raspberry, liquorice, meaty earth and blackpepper aftertaste. Great Value. Cellar 3-4 years. Alc 14%
