2011 Carn Mor Strictly Limited Tormore 9 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Tasting note: [30ml sample] Distilled in 2011 before maturing in ex-peated whisky casks. A deceptive nose that starts out with sheepskins and digestif biscuits, building with lanolin and earthy peat. Taste wise, delivers pounding phenols with a vapo-rub edge and feels more like 55%. The grassiness of the barley adds a distinctive twang to the finish. This really must have a been a peat bomb barrel to have infiltrated the malt so comprehensively. Unsophisticated but fun. 47.5% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. 1305 bottles.

Notes from the bottlers... lovely fruity sweetness on the nose with bags of fresh smoke lingering on the palate.
