A vintage dated dram aged for eleven years in first-fill Bourbon barrels (thought to be from Maker’s Mark distillery). From the initial whiffs of brine and salted water crackers, to the flavours of dried apple and vanilla, the slightly waxy overlay, mouthfilling texture and tangy finish - this genuinely captures the distillery's coastal style with an intensity lacking in many official bottlings. Notes from the bottlers... NOSE: Like a sea breeze. Aromas of salinity are underpinned by aromas of citrus rind, light toffee, honeysuckle, vanilla and clean malt. TASTE: Creamy and full-bodied, featuring flavours of vanilla ice cream, sweet oak, salted caramel, lemon marmalade and malty biscuits. FINISH: Medium long, this finish offers notes of buttery brazil nuts, more toffee and drying oak. A little peppery spice lingers.
