2010 Wendouree Shiraz
Wendouree are a small Clare Valley vineyard which have vines up to 100 years old. These old vines are very low yielding resulting in super concentrated fruit. The wines are probably not as big as they use to be, opting for a bit more elegance, however, they do possess an exceptional depth of flavour.
Other Reviews....
Menthol/camphor, licorice, black and red fruit, hazelnuts. Medium to full bodied, fresh acidity, slight warmth from alcohol, firm chewy tannin and pretty decent length. Some dried herb on the finish. Does not have the finesse of the Cabernet based wines, nor the excitement and interest of the straight Malbec, but that’s Shiraz for you. Nevertheless, a very good wine. Drink 2015 - 2025
