Totally opaque inky black colour with a deep dark crimson black hue. Intense opening aromas of liquorice are followed by some blackberry, black cherries, confectionary, toasty oak and blackpepper. Big and rich but quite restrained in nature for McLaren Vale Shiraz, the palate has tightly coiled flavours of liquorice, black cherries, vanillin confectionary, some toasty oak and blackpepper. Dry, chewy finish. Solid construction with firm but fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of liquorice, black cherries, sarsaparilla, toasty oak and blackpepper.
