2010 The Nectar 15th Anniversary Bunnahabhain 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

From the warehouses of Signatory Vintage, here we have what promises to be a very flavoursome Bunny, and judging by the colour, probably from an excellent refill sherry butt. One report states Oloroso, which is backed up by various tasting notes on the blogosphere suggesting this leans towards the more savoury end of sherried styles - "a lovely dryness, while the whisky itself is rather sweet. Love that contradiction. Strong, expressive whisky at 'only' 46%." Along with a strong sherry influence, it's also reported that this is a slightly peaty Bunnahabhain.

The Nectar is a relatively new Belgian bottler, born from a passion for Scottish single malts shared by two whisky connoisseurs, Mario Groteklaes and Jan Broekmans (who founded the in 2006). Young and old single malts stand side by side in this range, whether from well-known distilleries or not. Their research and selection quickly earned them a reputation for quality bottlings on amateur whisky blogs. Assume this is non-chill filtered, but it's not stated on the label. Very limited stocks.
