Matured for 15 months in primarily French oak (of which 50% was new) and a small portion of American oak barriques. Opaque black dark purple colour with dark purple hue. The nose displays ripe blackberry and liquorice as top notes with some underlying toasty oak and some confectionary end notes. Full bodied the palate delivers rich blackberry and liquorice flavours followed by some vanillin confectionary and toasty oak with a touch of spice on the back palate. Velvet smooth tannins with long ripe blackberry, liquorice, toasty oak and spice aftertaste.
