2010 Sevenhill Brother John May SJ Reserve Release Shiraz

Totally opaque midnight black core with a deep dark red black hue. Intense aromatics of liquorice, choc mint and blackberry ooze out of the glass followed by subtlety toasted vanillin oak and spice. Full bodied and richly concentrated the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, blackberries, dark plum and choc mint over vanillin cedar and spice. Slightly dryish finish with solidly built fine grained tannins. Long aftertaste of blackberries, liquorice, choc mint and spicy vanillin cedar. A slightly fresher style missing the density and super concentration of earlier releases.
