Sourced from dry grown vineyards that were planted in the 1920’s the wine was matured for 2 years in American oak.
Totally opaque inky black colour with a very dark red black tinged hue. Scented aromas of liquorice and ripe blackberries are intermixed with dark chocolate followed by vanillin oak and spice. Large scaled, decadently rich and opulently textured the palate boasts a sumptuous flavour profile of liquorice, ripe blackberries and dark chocolate over a background of vanillin oak, subtle earthiness and spice. Soft plush mouthfeel with velvety tannins. Excellent power and concentration with a long lush aftertaste of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark chocolate and spicy vanillin oak.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
