2010 Mazzei Fonterutoli Chianti Classico
The Marchesi Mazzei have been figures of the Tuscan cultural, political and commercial landscape since the 15th century and their involvement in winemaking can be traced back to the 11th century in the area of Carmignano. Produced from predominately Sangiovese (90%) with the balance made up of Malvasia Nera, Colorino and Merlot. Maturation took place in small French oak barrels for a period of 12 months.

ripe dark cherries followed by some cedar, earthy leather and spice. Medium bodied the palate possesses plenty
of rich dark cherry flavours followed by some meaty characters, cedar, a touch of earth and spice. Soft very fine
grained and beautifully integrated tannins. Excellent length with long dark cherry, cedar, earth and spice aftertaste.
