2010 Mandoon Reserve Chardonnay

The wine is fermented in new French barrels and underwent regular lees stirring, matured for a period of 12 months. Brilliant straw colour with tinges of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Intense aromatics of ripe peaches laced with dried honey merge into hints of butterscotch, toasty oak, honeycomb and spicy nougat. Rich and creamy in texture yet still holding onto some freshness the palate dishes up mouthfilling flavours of ripe peaches and citrus laced with dried honey over some roasted almond like characters, nougat and spice. Good bright acidity on the finish with a long ripe peach, dried honey, light honeycomb, roasted almond and spicy nougat aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
