Outstanding inky black colour with a very deep dark crimson red black hue. The nose displays perfumed scents of ripe blackcurrants and liquorice followed by some dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice. Full bodied the palate is rich and firmly structured with flavours if ripe blackcurrants and liquorice with a touch of dark chocolate present over some vanillin oak and spice. Dry astringent finish with very firm tannins providing substantial grip. Patience is required with this wine. Aftertaste of ripe blackcurrants, liquorice, earth and spice.
