2010 Douglas Laing & Co. Provenance Tomatin 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Another lesser known distillery, owned by a trio of Japanese corporations since the mid 1980s. Work on improving wood selections has significantly lifted Tomatin's reputation in a relatively short time. In particular, a higher percentage of first-fill casks (as opposed to second or third fill) have showcased the otherwise high-grade distillate. This one's from a single refill hogshead. Douglas Laing's notes describe aromas of fruit-filled fudge and grist with a palate of toffee and autumnal fruit, gentle vanilla and juicy barley. 46% Alc./Vol. 431 bottles.
