2010 Capel Vale Regional Series Cabernet Merlot

Family owned since 1974, Capel Vale sources fruit from all of the major cool climate wine regions in Western Australia including Geographe, Mount Barker, Pemberton and Margaret River. However, the 'Regional Series' aims to express the varietals that Capel Vale believe are best suited to each region. A small addition of petit verdot also made its way into this blend.

Opaque black crimson red colour with deep dark crimson red hue. The nose exhibits lifted blackcurrant and mulberry aromas followed by a hint of bay leaf, cedar and spice. Medium to full bodied and possessing good generosity the palate delivers flavours of blackcurrant and mulberry with a cedary overlay followed by a touch of cigar box and a spicy back palate. Very fine grained almost velvet like tannin structure. Good depth and persistence with long blackcurrant, mulberry and spicy cedar aftertaste.
Cellar 3-4 years (2015-2016).
