Matured in French oak for 30 months. Opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Perfumed aromas of liquorice and dark chocolate mint arise from the glass with underlying ripe blackcurrant, vanillin cedar and spice. Full bodied the palate delivers rich opulently textured flavours of dark chocolate, ripe blackcurrant and liquorice with overtones of mint followed by vanillin cedar on the back palate which is a little too prominent. Velvet smooth tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of dark chocolate, subtle mint, vanillin cedar and spice.
