Totally opaque inky black colour with dark crimson purple black hue. The nose opens with lifted aromas of ripe blackberries and liquorice showing excellent intensity followed by nuances of vanillin confectionary and pepper. Full bodied the palate boasts ripe blackberry, subtle dark chocolate and liquorice flavours followed by some vanillin cedar and pepper. The finish is quite dry with the slightly chalky tannins chopping the wine a little short. Aftertaste of liquorice, bitter chocolately toasty oak and pepper.
