2009 Yalumba Steeple Vineyard Shiraz

Sourced from the Steeple vineyards planted in 1919 the wine was matured for 14 months in French oak. Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. The nose displays an expressive bouquet of liquorice, dark plums and blackberries over some dark chocolate, toasty vanillin oak and spice. Satin like palate entry with mouthfilling flavours of rich blackberries, liquorice and dark plum over a vanillin oak, light toast and spice background. Very sumptuous and savoury with velvety tannins. Superb length with a long aftertaste of blackberries, liquorice, dark plum, earthy vanillin oak and spice.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
