(Tasted in 2013) Opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red hue. Showing excellent intensity an amalgam of black cherry, liquorice and dark chocolate aromas arise from the glass followed by some earth and vanillin cedar. Large scaled, in the mouth the palate possesses a rich opulent profile of liquorice and ripe black cherry followed by nuances of dark chocolate with a spicy earth and leather back palate. Velvet smooth tannins with very long liquorice, black cherry, dark chocolate and spicy earth aftertaste.
Alc 14.5%

Other Reviews…..
100% Mourvedre and a deep garnet-purple color, the 2009 The Pict gives really earthy, tarry, tree bark and yeast extract aromas underscored by an olive-laced, dark fruit core. Full-bodied and rich, it is very savory in the mouth with spices and minerals plus firm, grainy tannins and bright acid. It finishes long and savory. Drink it from 2014 to 2022+.
