Juveniles is a 'cult' Parisian wine bar run by ex-pat Englishman, Tim Johnston, whose also a passionate promoter of the Rhone Valley's wines. Dave Powell hit it off with Tim over the years, eventually making a wine exclusively for his wine bar in 1999. This delightful unoaked red is a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Mataro and 20% Shiraz sourced from vines aged between 40-150 years old.
Deep crimson red colour with crimson mauve hue. Lifted aromas of raspberry jube, plum juice and confectionary showing good intensity. Light to medium weight with ripe joosy plum, raspberry and spice flavours followed by some confectionary and pepper end notes. Very fine grained tannins with aftertaste of spice, plum and raspberry.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2010-2013)
14.5% Alc
