This very well made Pinot Noir was matured in a combination of new to 4 year old Troncais French barriques for 12 months. Deep dark crimson red colour with dark crimson red mauve hue. The nose displays lifted scents of dark cherry and dried gamey meats followed by some plum and spice with a touch of underlying cedar. Medium weight the palate is quite generous with mouthfilling flavours of dark cherry, spice and dried meat followed by some toasty cedar. Very fine grained tannins. Good power with long aftertaste of dark cherry, spice and meaty cedar.
Cellar 2-3 years (2013-2014).
Alc 14.0%
