2009 Ryder Watervale Riesling

The Clare Valley is just over 100km north of the city of Adelaide and is one of the oldest wine producing regions in Australia. It's become synonymous with outstanding Riesling, often sold at bargain basement prices. Customers returning from holiday in Germany (the traditional home of Riesling) invariably remind us just how lucky we are to be able to purchase superb Rieslings at a fraction of a price of their European counterparts. This wine is a case in point.

Pale straw colour with water like hue. The nose displays good intensity with lifted notes of orange rind, followed by lime, citrus and spice. Excellent weight and mouthfeel with flavours of lime, citrus and orange rind. Clean, crisp acid finish with aftertaste of lime and citrus.
Drink now or cellar 1-2 years (2009-2011)
