2009 Plantation Australia Palo Cortado Cask Finish Single Cask Rum (700ml)

A limited edition molasses-based pot-still rum from Beenleigh Artisan Distillers in Queensland. Aged for eleven years in Bourbon wood followed by twelve months in a Ferrand cognac cask, the rum received a final four months finishing in a Palo Cortado Sherry cask. One barrel only. Notes from the producers... Nose: Fruity on pear, mandarin jam, grapefruit zest and dried apricot. Spicy notes of pepper, cloves, cinnamon, anis and pistachio with oxidative and vinous touches of the palo cortado. Palate : Well balanced between the rum, oak and the sherry on chocolate, almond, cherry, blueberry, banana, bitter orange and some elegant rose notes.
