2009 Mr Riggs Piebald Shiraz Viognier

A blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Viogner, this wine displays an outstanding opaque black crimson colour with black heart and very deep black crimson hue. Youthful aromas of freshly crushed blackberry, plum and dark cherry followed by some spice and a faint hint of dried apricot. Plump and joosy the palate is loaded with ripe blackberry, liquorice and confectionary flavours followed by some spice on the back palate. Fine grained, slightly dryish but balanced tannins with long aftertaste of blackberry, dark plum, liquorice and spice.
Cellar 2-3 years (2013-2014).
