2009 Marques d Elciego Rioja

Opaque black dark crimson red colour with dark crimson red hue. The nose shows good perfumed lift with top notes of ripe dark cherries, liquorice and dark plum followed by some vanillin cedar and meaty notes. Medium weight the palate delivers flavours of dark cherry, liquorice, vanillin oak and some earthy dried meats on the back palate. The oak component being a little more prominent than the previous vintage. Dry finish with slightly firmish tannins. Aftertaste of dark cherries, vanillin oak and some meaty earth like characters.
Cellar 2-3 years (2014-2015).
