2009 Magpie Estate The Fakir Grenache

Aged in a small amount of new French oak with the balance largely aged in older French oak. Deep dark red colour with a tinge of black around the edges and dark red moving towards brick red hue. Scented top notes of black raspberry and liquorice are followed by some dark chocolate, vanillin confectionary and very light spice. Medium bodied the palate possesses ripe succulent dark raspberry flavours intermixed with some dark chocolate followed by vanillin confectionary and spice. Soft supple mouthfeel with silky smooth tannins. Aftertaste of ripe dark raspberries, subtle dark chocolate, vanillin confectionary and light spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
