2009 Knight Granite Hills Shiraz

Sourced from 38 year old vines with maturation taking place in a combination of French and American oak for 3 years. Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Scented aromas of liquorice and blackberries are overlaid by vanillin cedar, subtle leather and spice. Rich and supple the palate is dominated by liquorice/aniseed like flavours with ripe blackberries and dark plums also present followed by vanillin cedar, earth and pepper. Slightly dryish on the finish with velvety tannins. Long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberries, vanillin cedar, subtle leather and spicy pepper.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
