2009 Domaine Mongeard Mugneret Vosne Romanee

Semi translucent dark crimson red colour with mauve crimson hue. The nose displays aromas of dark cherry, violets, dried meat and cedar followed by some spice and incense end notes. Light to medium weight the palate is elegant and quite spicy but delivers a good power wave of flavour – dark cherries, spice and cedar are followed by some gamey characters with the spiciness persisting right through to the back palate. Dry finish with very fine grained tannins. Excellent persistence with long aftertaste of dark cherry, spice, cedar and incense.
Cellar 4-5 years (2015-2016).
