2009 Domaine de Villeneuve La Griffe

This vineyard is located in close proximity to the border with Chateauneuf du Pape. Deep dark crimson red purple colour with dark crimson hue. The nose displays lifted aromas of black cherry and black raspberry followed by some meaty notes and a touch of spice. Medium to full bodied and showing impressive richness the palate displays flavours of ripe black cherry, black raspberry and dark plum followed by some spicy earth like back palate characters. There’s a touch of heat present on the finish with fine grained tannin structure. Excellent length with long aftertaste of black cherry, dark raspberry and spice.
Cellar 2-3 years (2013-2014).
