A blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. Opaque black brick red colour with a dark brick red hue. Nosing reveals aromas of blackcurrant, leather and earth over toasty cedar and spice. Medium bodied with some initial richness from the blackcurrant fruit, tertiary flavours of earthy black olives, leather, old toasty cedar and spice then move in and take over. Chewy finish with dry still relatively assertive tannins and an aftertaste of earthy black olives, leather, old toasty cedar and spice.
Drink over the next 1-2 years before the tertiary characters completely take over the fruit.
