2009 Benromach Batch 2 Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Batch 1 in Benromach's Cask Strength series was one of the biggest malts of the year. Batch 2 promises more sherry, more smoke as well as spices galore combined with an oily mouthfeel. Reports suggest it to be as good as the 2008 - if not better. These vintage dated releases are also intended to offer subtle variations on the distillery profile reflecting the cask selections from the year of distillation.

Notes from Benromach... AROMA: Rich dark forest fruits with clove and cinnamon spice, followed by sweet raspberries and dark chocolate aromas. PALATE: Sherry soaked fruit and subtle smoke lead to a hint of zesty orange peel. Red apple flavours develop alongside subtle cracked black pepper. FINISH: Full bodied and long finish with sweet smoke and red berries. 57.1% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
