Though less consistent than St.Hallett's flagship 'Blackwell' and 'Old Block' releases, their entry level Shiraz can deliver the kind of flavour profile that first made the world fall in love with Australian reds.
Totally opaque black/red colour with a deep, dark red hue combined with scents of blackberry, liquorice and blackpepper. Typical of the warm 2008 vintage, the palate is generous and full bodied. Flavours of blackberry, liquorice, plum and blackpepper emerge. Excellent depth with fine grained tannins and long aftertaste of liquorice, spice and blackpepper.
